Axarquia simply the best
the area is located east of Malaga, the region is less developed than the western side of Malaga, part of Malaga province stretches from the east of Malaga to the little village of Maro, just outside the popular seaside town of Nerja. Inland it follows the mountain ranges of Las Sierra Tejeda and Almijara up to the small village of Alfarnate.
Axarquia is breathtakingly beautiful with coastal towns and beaches and white mountain villages. Maroma is the highest mountain (over 2,050m) snow-capped during the winter months overlooking the stunning Lake Vinuela. Excellent region for hiking and walking holidays.
