Pori Beach and Cafe Pori Koufonissi
In my opinion, Koufonissi’s most beautiful beaches are gathered on the eastern side of the island. We made the trip by boat last year in September. We set off from the port and our beach stop was Pori. During the boat trip, we saw several great beaches. The closest to Agios Georgios (Chora – Koufonissi Town) is Finika beach (Harokopou beach) a nice sandy beach with crystal clear water, preferred by families (short walking distance from Agios Georgios (Chora)).
Fanos beach is the next one along (even named Defteri). One of the Koufonoissi’s most popular beaches with some hidden coves nearby is Platia Pounda. More small coves with sand or pebbles further along to the east. A few more minutes and we will now reach our destination Pori Beach. The beach has white sand and crystal/turquoise water, only two tavernas (2016). This is the best beach on the island as long as there is not a lot of wind! On “the back” of Pori Beach, Xylobatis Sea Caves
Spend a day on the beach – One of the many highlights of the day was the nice lunch, not just the food but also thanks to Lefteris Loudaros and Sofia Perraki who made sure that we and other guests enjoyed our time at Café Pori. Greek Salad, Dolmades, Calamares and so on.
