Restaurante Es Verger Mallorca
Don’t visit Mallórca without eating here. Rick Stein has and David Ritchie, a true food lover and ‘cociñero estupendo’ [great cook], has also eaten here and both give it their commendation.
Restaurante Es Verger
David writes:
If like me you like lamb, then this is the place for you. The restaurant is halfway up a mountain, just underneath Alaró Castle at Es Verger and from here you will get truly spectacular views.
Get someone else to do the drive up and down and that way you can sit back and just enjoy the sheer magic of the journey.
Lamb, shoulder or leg
The reason most people come to this place is to eat lamb, shoulder or leg, cooked in the largest bread oven I've ever seen by the grandmother. She produces hundreds of covers weekly in the summer season.
If you don't like lamb in a truly wonderful environment, bring a stale cheese sandwich, you'll deserve that.
Don’t go without booking or you may have a long wait to be seated. Take my word. This food experience is well worth the reasonably short journey.
Rustic environment
So enjoy a wonderful Mallórcan gastronomic experience with a clear conscience in a traditional farm setting where the buildings are genuine traditional farm buildings.
After you dined in heaven you'll only wish to have a siesta and remember just how good it all was, such is the complete wonderfulness of this place and food.
